How to Cancel Your Adobe Subscription Without Paying a Fee

Adobe offers three plan types that affect what you'll pay if you cancel. Annual plan billed monthly: if you cancel before the 12 months are up, Adobe charges 50% of the remaining monthly payments. For example, if you're 3 months into a $60/month Creative Cloud plan, you'd owe 50% × 9 months × $60 = $270. Annual plan prepaid: no cancellation fee because you've already paid the full year. Monthly plan (no annual commitment): cancel any time with no fee, but this plan typically costs 2× the monthly equivalent of an annual plan. Always check your plan type at account.adobe.com before cancelling.

There are three scenarios where Adobe will not charge a cancellation fee. First, within 14 days of your initial purchase — Adobe offers a full refund if you cancel within the first two weeks. Second, within 14 days of your annual renewal date — if your plan just renewed for another year, you can cancel free within 14 days of that renewal. Third, if you have a monthly (no-commitment) plan — these can be cancelled anytime. Note these 14-day windows carefully and set a calendar reminder before your next renewal if you're considering cancelling.

Sign in at account.adobe.com with your Adobe ID. Click "Plans" in the left navigation menu. Find your active plan and click "Manage plan". Select "Cancel plan" from the options. Adobe will display any applicable cancellation fee on the next screen before you confirm. You'll be given the option to keep access until the end of the billing period (most common) or cancel immediately with a prorated refund. If a fee is shown and you're not within a free cancellation window, consider downgrading to a cheaper plan instead of cancelling outright.

Some Adobe apps like Lightroom and Acrobat can be purchased directly through the App Store or Google Play. If you subscribed this way, Adobe cannot cancel the subscription — you must do it through the platform. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → find the Adobe app → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → find the app → Cancel subscription. Be careful not to cancel your Adobe account directly with Adobe if your billing is through Apple or Google, as these are separate subscriptions and you could end up paying for both or neither.
