How to Cancel Spotify on iPhone (App Store Subscription)
If you originally subscribed using the iOS Spotify app, your billing goes through Apple. You must cancel through Apple — Spotify's website will show your plan as active but won't give you a cancel option. On your iPhone, open Settings, tap your name at the top, then tap "Subscriptions". Find Spotify in the list and tap it, then tap "Cancel Subscription" and confirm. Your Premium access continues until the current billing period ends, after which you move to the free tier.
How to Cancel Spotify on Android (Google Play)
If you signed up through the Google Play Store, open the Play Store app and tap your profile icon. Go to "Payments & subscriptions" → "Subscriptions". Tap Spotify in the list, then tap "Cancel subscription" and follow the confirmation steps. If you subscribed directly through Spotify's website, the Play Store won't show a Spotify subscription — use the web method above instead.
What Happens to Your Playlists and Downloads After Cancelling
Your Spotify account is not deleted when you cancel Premium. All your playlists, saved albums, followed artists, and podcast subscriptions are preserved on the free tier indefinitely. You'll lose the ability to download music for offline listening, and ads will return between songs on mobile. Shuffle-only playback restrictions on mobile also return for non-Premium users. If you're on Spotify Family or Duo, cancelling the plan affects all members — they each revert to free accounts at the same time.
