How to Cancel Your Canva Pro Subscription

Cancel Canva Pro on web, iPhone, or Android — and understand what designs and assets you lose access to when you revert to the free plan.

Canva Pro costs $14.99/month or $119.99/year. The free plan is genuinely useful — so many people find they don't need Pro after an initial project. Cancelling is straightforward from the web, but there are important things to know about which designs and assets become inaccessible when you drop back to free.

1

How to Cancel Canva Pro on the Website

Go to canva.com and sign in. Click your profile icon or account name in the top-right corner, then go to "Account settings". Click "Billing & plans" in the left sidebar. Next to your Pro plan, click "Cancel plan". Canva will walk you through a brief cancellation flow and may offer a discount or pause. Confirm the cancellation. Your Pro access continues until the end of your billing period. You'll receive a confirmation email.

2

Cancelling Canva Pro Through Apple or Google

If you subscribed to Canva Pro through the iOS App Store or Google Play, billing goes through those platforms and you cannot cancel from the Canva website. On iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Canva → Cancel Subscription. On Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → Canva → Cancel. Check your Canva billing page to see which platform manages your subscription before attempting to cancel.

What You Lose When Canva Pro Expires

When your Pro subscription ends, you revert to the free tier. Designs that use Pro-only elements (Pro templates, stock photos, certain fonts, brand kit assets) are locked. You can still open and view them, but you cannot edit or download them until you reupgrade or replace the Pro elements with free alternatives. Your brand kit, background remover, and magic resize tools also stop working. Designs that use only free elements remain fully editable. Before cancelling, download final versions of any Pro designs you might need later.

Canva Free vs Pro: What You Actually Need

Canva's free plan covers thousands of templates, basic photos, and standard elements — which is enough for most personal and small business use. Pro adds 100+ million stock photos and videos, background removal, unlimited brand kits, and Magic Studio AI tools. If you only need Pro occasionally for a project, consider cancelling and resubscribing monthly when you have a specific need, rather than paying $119.99/year. The monthly $14.99 price for occasional months is cheaper than the annual fee if you only use Pro 6 months or fewer per year.
